The resource and Systems Research Section collects and analyzes information about international cooperation and trends which relate to the systems and policies for the protection of cultural heritage. Information is gathered through major international meetings held by UNESCO and other organizations, such as the World Heritage Committee. In addition, the Section conducts surveys and research on current problems concerning the protection of cultural heritage. Furthermore, it promotes the development of continuous networks for international cooperation through the coordination of experts and research institutions both within and outside Japan.
