International Course on Conservation of Japanese Paper 2023 starts
We are pleased to announce the beginning of the International Course on Conservation of Japanese Paper 2023, jointly organized by the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) and the Tokyo National Research Institute for Cultural Properties (TOBUNKEN). The course, previously held in 2019, received 212 applications. After a careful selection process, we welcome 10 participants from Argentina, Australia, Barbados, Denmark, Germany, Iceland, Indonesia, Italy, South Africa, and the UK. In this 3-week intensive course from 28th August to 15th September, the participants will learn the science, production, culture, and conservation use of Japanese paper. We hope that they will fully immerse themselves in the world of Japanese paper and that the experience will enrich and enhance the efficiency of their own conservation techniques.
