International Course on Conservation of Japanese Paper 2024, which began on 26th August, concluded on 13th September. Co-organized by ICCROM and Tobunken, this course hold as significant place among ICCROM's programs due to its long-standing history.

Ten participants from overseas acquired traditional Japanese conservation skills by creating a handscroll. During the third week, they learned about conservation systems for Japanese craft techniques, the manufacturing processes of brushes essential for conservation, as well as the structure and handling techniques of hanging scrolls and folding screens, through both demonstrations and hands-on practice.

After the three-week course, all participants returned home safely. TOBUNKEN hope they will apply the skills and knowledge gained at JPC to preserve cultural properties in their respective countries.
