Visit of Researchers from Restoration Technology Division, National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage, Korea

On September 18, four researchers from the Restoration Technology Division of the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage, Korea, including Senior Research Official Kwon Hyuk-nam, visited our institute. The purpose of their visit was to study the status of researchers and research institutes in Japan concerning the use of drying oils as coatings or paints for traditional buildings and artifacts. In line with this purpose, we arranged an interview session and a demonstration of the analytical equipment used in the research, with the cooperation of Director INUZUKA Masahide and Researcher KURASHIMA Reo of the Center for Conservation Science. The Center always welcomes inquiries and visits requests from overseas cultural heritage institutions and strives to strengthen the international network for heritage conservation.
