Mi (winnowing baskets) are common, indispensable tools for winnowing rice and other grains.
Made of natural materials such as wood and bamboo, they display a wealth of skills and wisdom in the process of distinguishing, collecting and processing plants and weaving them into shape. They also exhibit a surprising diversity of shapes that reflect the vegetation of each region where they are made.
