Report on Important Cultural Properties (structures) Designation Submitted

On April 17, the Council for Cultural Affairs (Commissioner: NISHIHARA Suzuko) submitted a report on eight assets (seven new and one additional) to be designated as Important Cultural Properties to SHIONOTANI Ryū, the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. The list included the Nihonbashi Takashimaya main building in Tokyo and the Tsukayama Aomori Distillery in Nago City, Okinawa Prefecture. In addition to the list, Kuroshima District in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture, and Kurogi, Kurogi Town, Fukuoka Prefecture, were also suggested to be selected as Important Preservation Districts for Groups of Traditional Buildings.
