Winner of the Golden Lion at the 53rd Venice Biennale Announced

On February 24, the organizing committee of the Venice Biennale, an international exhibition of contemporary art, announced the award winners. Yoko Ono (76) was awarded the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement. The citation stated that she ‘had opened up new possibilities for expression in the global art world’.
