"Reunion, Rehabilitation, and Revitalization" International Online Workshop for Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage and Living Heritage in Sudan was held on May 28th and 29th, 2024.
Sudan has been in peril due to military conflict that began in April 2023, and is now amid one of the world’s most serious humanitarian crises. Under such circumstances, both tangible and intangible cultural heritage are at risk. Sudanese experts in safeguarding cultural heritage are also facing danger and being forced to flee to safer areas, either abroad or within the country.
However, despite their difficult situation, these Sudanese experts are continuing to work to protect their cultural heritage. International experts are also cooperating and supporting their activities.
This online workshop invites such Sudanese experts and international experts to share information on the current state of Sudan’s cultural heritage, notably intangible cultural heritage and living heritage, toward discussing mid and post-conflict measures to solve the heritage issue in Sudan.
