The Tokyo National Research Institute of Cultural Properties (Tobunken) owns a lot of woodblock print books of Edo period. Among them, the Oda Collection which was collected by a Japanese lithographer, Oda Kazuma (1882~1956) with a focus on illustrated books by Katsushika Hokusai is particularly significant. The Getty Research Institute in the U.S and Tobunken launched a cooperative project for the Getty Research Portal as a portal site of digital books since 2017. This time, we are very pleased to announce that the whole of Oda collection, 318 volumes of 135 tittles became open-access as a fruit of our cooperative project. The bibliographic information and the PDF file of the books would be retrieved and found in the Getty Research Portal and the site of Tobunken below. The Getty Research Portal http://portal.getty.edu/search?from=0&size=25&sort=relevance&adv_provenance=Kazuma&adv_provenance=OdaThe site of Tobunken https://opac.tobunken.go.jp/gate?module=top&path=corner/corner.do&method=open&no=2We hope it will contribute to new discoveries and richer research on Japanese art. By our continuing work, more woodblock print books of Edo period of Tobunken will be digitized.
