概要

「煉瓦造建造物の保存と修復」英語版

・Standard acceleration response spectrum ofLarge-scale EarthquakesA comparison of Japan and Italy (slide 1)It can be read from this graph that shorterperiods result in larger earthquakemovements and longer periods result insmaller movements.A larger value is recorded in Italy for shortperiods and in Japan for long periods.Seismic waves exceeding a velocity of 1,000gal have been observed. (slide 2)Regional Coefficients (slide 3)Under the Japanese Building Code, foreach of the areas in which the occurrenceof earthquakes is expected, a coefficient forrecession is provided so as to diminish theseismic force in calculation. In Japan, 1.0 isthe strictest coefficient, and in other regionssuch as the Northeast or Kyushu, the seismicforce can be decreased to 0.9 or 0.8. Thesecoefficients are derived from how oftenearthquakes have occurred in the past.In Italy, as has been explained by ProfessorClaudio Modena, the scale of earthquakesare determined by area, and compared toJapan, there are greater variances, rangingfrom 1.0 as the strictest to the lowest being0.14.slide 1slide 2slide 365
