概要

「煉瓦造建造物の保存と修復」英語版

Structural Modeling(slide 32) This is an interesting experiment executed byProfessor M. Tomazevic in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.Three models of masonry structures made of the samematerial in the same form were created and each wasequipped with a traditional wood-frame floor structure thatcould absorb deformation. The center model was of thesame structure, but there were connections in two places. The one on the right had a reinforced concrete floor slab. Inthe model on the left, a typical type of damage due to outof-planefailure was seen, which is characteristic of a rigidblock failure. Reinforcement on the center model was simple, but it is clear that the simple tensile element was effectivefor increasing strength and the collapse mechanism hadbeen greatly altered.Resistance of the central model as a whole was abouttwice as large as the one on the left. By changing the floorto a concrete slab, it may be imagined that its strengthwould dramatically increase, but by only slightly increasingthe vibration, damage was seen. The vibration was not solarge compared to that which caused damage to this model.Undesirable response resulting in such damage as an out-ofplanecollapse was observed.Various Reinforcement Methods(slide 33-39) They are typical interventions in which weakareas were reinforced with tensile members of differenttechniques and different materials. In some cases, they aretied together from the outside or stainless steel rods arehidden in the joints. This is a typical method for reinforcinga tower at its connection. Various forms of reinforcementwere applied following discussions with the conservationarchitect.(slide 40-42) This is a basic type of reinforcement installedin the area where the roof and walls meet. It is importantthat the roof is sufficiently made rigid. At the famous churchof San Biagio in the Toscana Region, a simple reinforcementmethod was employed. The form was decided on throughstudies made with the architect.Out-of-plane collapse of walls was another difficultproblem. Proposals had been made to place vertical loadsfor stabilization, but in the end, we judged its resistance byProf. Eng.
