概要

「煉瓦造建造物の保存と修復」英語版

? Reinforcement planThe two requirements for this restoration were that 1)the construction period was to be ten months and 2) it wasnecessary to continue using the building as classrooms.Four different reinforcement methods were studied and thetechnique of pre-stressing was selected (chart 7-1) fn 48 .Also, in drilling holes for inserting steel bars, the drydrilling method in which extremely low-temperature air wassent in was adopted for the first time in Japan, instead ofthe conventional method of wet drilling. In this work, fourmachines were employed for two months to drill holes forthe installation of 200 bars. At an interval of approximately1 meter, two rods were inserted into each hole (figure7-10).Shrinkage of the wall after pre-stressing was only about 2millimeters with no effects on the door and window fittings;the interior was barely touched. Also, because steel barswere fixed at the top and bottom ends of walls, the holeswere not injected with such materials as mortar.? OverviewIn this restoration, reinforcement was realized not byinstallation of a new structural body, but by pre-stressing theextant brick structure to increase its strength. This methodenabled the original brick structure to retain its function asthe main structure.Although the effect of inserting approximately 200 steelbars into the brick wall was not little, compared to theconventional technique of inserting steel rods or stainlesssteel pins into the wall, the employed method did not requireinjection of agents to consolidate the metal elements tobrick, enabling easy replacement of metal bars should theybecome damaged. From this point of view, this method ishighly reversible.photo 7-9 The exterior of the building(photo provided by:Japan Cultural Heritage Consultancy)walls補強対to象のbe壁reinforcedphoto 7-10 Reception room(Izumi no ma)(photo provided by:Japan Cultural Heritage Consultancy)figure 7-10 Floor plan, the walls to be reinforced is colored(figure provided by:Takenaka Corporation)115
