Watermarks are patterns in the paper made by the difference in fiber thickness during papermaking using moulds thathave wire patterns attached.8. pH measurements of notebooks were made on unobtrusive areas using a pH indicator strip (Merck) by putting a drop ofion exchanged water on the strip, remove the excess water and hold the strip over the test area for 1 minute.
