Noh and Techniques of Japanese Dance

Held at the Yarai Noh Theater in Kagurasaka, Tokyo, on November 16, 1999, this, the 30th Open Seminar, featured lectures on The Influence of Noh in Kabuki and Japanese Dance, and Hayashi Music of Noh and Japanese Dance, followed by comparisons of performances from the Noh plays Sumidagawa and Sakuragawa with Japanese dance Shizuhata Obi, and Noh play Ashikari with dance Hitori Wankyu.


Kanze Yoshiyuki performs the Aminodan dance from the Noh play Sakuragawa.


Fujima Ran-o performs the dance Shizuhata Obi.
