Activities for the protection of cultural property in china has begun in 1980s in Dunhuang, which was the first and comprehensive international joint research of our Institute. The research in Dunhuang is continuing since then, now the variety of projects are conducted in China such as the UNESCO/Japan Trust Fund for the Conservation and Restoration of the Longmen Caves or the capacity building project within a cooperative framework between Japan, China and Korea.
We have begun exchange and cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science of Mongolia since 2008, especially in the field of the restoration of wooden architecture and conservation of stone monuments. |
