Conference on International Cooperation on Conservation |
International cooperative efforts towards the conservation of cultural heritage are carried out with an appreciation of regional characteristics and the environs of the cultural heritage of each country and involve a mutual understanding and promotion of each nation’s principles and methods concerning preservation. Held twice annually, the Conference on International Cooperation on Conservation provides a venue for the investigation of issues concerning conservation activities in various countries through the presentation of reports and discussions by researchers both in Japan and abroad. |
This conference is participated by 80 to 90 professionals and business people every time, and the cases of conservation and restoration works carried out abroad are introduced and discussed. This is a precious opportunity to acquire information on the conservation of cultural property. The case studies presented and contents discussed are compiled into "Report of the Conference on International Cooperation in Conservation", and 16 volumes have been published (in Japanese) to date. |
