'02 Research on special performance of traditional performing arts

Various data (musical scores, recording, literatures, etc) are collected and surveyed on works and performing techniques rarely staged.

Re-staging Noh of the Momoyama period

The Department is studying the dramaturgy of Noh in the Muromachi and Edo periods. In collaboration with the Nho project organized by the Yokohama Noh Theater, Sotoba Komachi was staged by Momoyama-style dramaturgy in November 2002.

The Noh score which was owned by Simotsuma-shoshin is one of the materials for restaging. (collection of the Noh Research Institute, Hosei University)
