71The Modern Cultural Properties Section of the Center for Conservation Science and RestorationTechniques at the National Research Institute for Cultural Properties, Tokyo held a seminar on “Principlesfor Conservation and Restoration of Modern Cultural Heritage Properties” in 2016. Preceding this seminar,we made a visit for surveys with the lecturers to the following sites: Tomioka Silk Mill, Toyota AutomobileMuseum (Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture), Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology(Nagoya City), and Sangi Railway (Mie Prefecture). We would like to thank all those who cooperated with us, not only at the seminar but also in the earliervisits, participants at the seminar, as well as those who provide us with continued support. In this report, the use of terminology and names of places have been unified throughout the differentchapters.
