Tests such asfolding endurance test and peel strength testwere conducted according to the JapaneseIndustrial Standards ( JIS). 17 The thicknessof each adhesive was determined based onpreliminary test results that would suit theactual treatments.Adhesion strength tests and foldingendurance tests were also conducted forcotton fabrics lined with Japanese paper tobe used in case binding repairs.
