Passing down Recollections and Records: Disasters and Intangible Folk Culture
The 7th Conference on the study of Intangible Folk Cultural Properties was held on Oct 26th, 2012 with “Passing down Recollections and Records: Disasters and Intangible Folk Culture” as its theme.
After the huge earthquake in 3.11, various efforts have been made to preserve the culture and cultural properties of disaster-stricken areas.
However, the reality is that issues with and information concerning the intangible culture and cultural properties of stricken areas were not adequately shared. Thus, the Department of Intangible Culturel Heritage planned to continue to work on this theme.
For the second year, the Department discuss how to pass down Recollections and Records in devastated areas and to share information.
