Constructing a cultural properties archive

The Institute conducts research on tangible and intangible cultural properties from diverse viewpoints, including those from human and natural sciences. The results of these studies are then made available to the public. A vast array of diverse materials has accumulated at the Institute as part of these activities. Basic organization of these research materials useful in the study of cultural properties as joint assets of the Institute will facilitate their broader utilization.
The Institute is also seeking ways to make its research results and related materials more widely available. It aims to strengthen the transmission of its information on a worldwide scale by working with the Getty Research Institute, Sainsbury Institute for the Study of Japanese Arts and Cultures and other overseas institutions.
